DEL TACO PLANS TO RETURN TO ROSEBURG IN FEBRUARY

After losing the Roseburg store in a fire 27 months ago, an official with the franchise that operated Del Taco said he is very excited to get back to business in Roseburg soon.

Cactus Enterprises Director of Operations Erick Marsh told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that, “Losing the Roseburg store back in July 2022 was a big loss for our company as it was our 3rd busiest store behind Albany and Salem”. Marsh said they are expecting to be complete with the rebuild and be back open by the first of February 2025. Cactus Enterprises also operates 6 other Del Taco stores in Oregon: Salem, Albany, two in Medford, Klamath Falls and Bend.

Located in the same place as the prior store on Northwest Stewart Parkway, Marsh said this building will be just over 2,300 square feet, compared to the old building that was nearly 2,900 square feet.  Marsh said the prior building was originally a Jack in the Box outlet that had too much extra storage space. The new building will have a dining room with a seating capacity of 48.

Marsh said he works in stores around the state on a daily basis, so when people from Roseburg visit and see his name tag, they practically beg for the franchise to rebuild soon. He said it has been nice to tell people the ball is finally rolling, and the wait is almost over.

Del Taco will be open for dine-in, take-out, and drive-thru orders. Hours of operation are not finalized but will likely be 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. daily.

Marsh plans to hire between 50 and 60 employees for the opening date. He will be going over applications and hiring a management team during the first week of December. Training will be handled at some of his other locations. The rest of the employees will be hired later with training taking place about 2 weeks before the store opens.

Marsh said Del Taco has a long tradition of serving quality fresh food. He said beans for example, are still cooked from scratch. Chicken and steak are cooked fresh in-house throughout the day. Cheese is grated from 40 pound blocks every morning. Pico de Gallo and guacamole is made fresh daily. Marsh claims their Double Del Cheeseburger is one of the best fresh cooked to order cheeseburgers around.

Marsh said the new store will use what the company calls its Fresh Flex design, which is very modern looking. He said the design will be copied into some of the franchises older stores around the state in the next year or so.
