A vehicle went airborne after its brakes apparently failed, leading to a crash on Wednesday afternoon.

A Sutherlin Police report said at about 1:45 p.m. a 73-year-old driver was exiting Interstate 5 northbound at the main Sutherlin exit. As his sedan proceeded down the off ramp, a mechanical issue took place, leading the driver to begin evasive maneuvers. The vehicle left the road and traveled along the ditch towards West Central Avenue, striking the stop light pole, breaking concrete, and going into the air before coming to rest in the west bound freeway on ramp turning lane on West Central Avenue.

No one was hurt in the accident.
