Roseburg Police jailed a man for the alleged theft of wine on Monday.

An RPD report said just after 1:00 p.m. the 49-year-old was allegedly caught by an employee chugging a bottle of wine inside Dollar General in the 2100 block of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. The suspect had not paid for the wine. Officers located him a few blocks away and charged him with third-degree theft. Bail was set at $1,250 bail.
