ROSEBURG SEES FIRST SIGNIFICANT RAIN SINCE MID-SEPTEMBER

Roseburg had the first significant rainfall Sunday since mid-September.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the rain began late in the evening and measured .22 inches at the Roseburg Regional Airport. That is the highest daily amount since September 11th when .54 inches was measured. Rain intensified early Monday with .76 inches recorded between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Some showers are possible for the balance of the day.

The Umpqua Valley is forecast to have dry conditions Tuesday and Wednesday, with a chance of rain for the rest of the week. Afternoon highs will range between the low 60s and low 70s. The normal high temperature for this week in Roseburg is 65 degrees.
