A Riddle man was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and resisting arrest following an incident Saturday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 11:00 p.m. deputies responded after a caller said there was a disturbance in the 300 block of East Fifth Avenue. When the first deputy arrived the 18-year-old suspect took off running but was later contacted by another deputy down the road. The disturbance was verbal only. Units attempted to get the man to walk away for a bit to cool off, but he did not.

The suspect returned to the house immediately and began arguing outside again with the other party. As deputies attempted to calm the situation, the man reportedly got in a deputy’s face and was allegedly trying to fight with multiple deputies. As deputies attempted to detain the man, he pulled away multiple times. The man was ultimately placed into handcuffs without incident. He was detained without bail. He was also cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol.
