A Days Creek man was taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Thursday morning.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 8:25 a.m. the 20-year-old was driving a westbound SUV in the 8700 block of Tiller Trail Highway in the Canyonville area when he began to have a medical episode. His vehicle left the roadway on the south side of the road and traveled for approximately 270 yards. The SUV went through several cattle fences and into a hay barn loaded with round bales. The hay bales and farming implements stopped the vehicle from continuing further.

The man was contacted, still in the vehicle, with no serious injuries from the crash apparent. He was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center by ambulance. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
