On Wednesday, Roseburg Police cited a transient who was later taken to the hospital.

An RPD report said at 4:40 p.m. the 57-year-old woman was contacted at Deer Creek Park in the 500 block of Northeast Stephens Street for camping on the river side of the path, which is an area that is off limits for camping. A records check revealed the woman had warrants out of RPD and the Cottage Grove Police Department. She claimed to have ingested fentanyl and was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center.

Staff at Mercy ultimately decided to keep the woman overnight for observation. She was cited and released on the warrants and for prohibited camping.
