Roseburg Police cited two men for camping in Gaddis Park, in the 800 block of Northwest Highland Street, on Tuesday.
An RPD report said at 4:30 p.m. a 41-year-old was contacted at his camp which was next to a running creek. It was set up after 8:00 a.m. and was larger than 10 feet by 10 feet. The man had been warned of the camping ordinance multiple times in the past. He was released after the citation was issued.
At 4:40 p.m. a 51-year-old was contacted in the little league dugout in the park. He had the entire dugout tarped off and full of his possessions. There was even a cable lock on the door to secure the area. Outside of the dugout was a large amount of trash, which included numerous used syringes. He was cited and released for depositing trash within 100 yards of a waterway, as well as for prohibited camping.
