There has been no change in size on the Homestead and Diamond Complex fires as of midday Thursday.

An Umpqua National Forest update said 371 personnel are currently assigned to the fires.

Although westerly winds brought slightly cooler and more humid conditions on Wednesday, fires continued to creep and back into very dry fuels. Unseasonably warm and very dry conditions have returned, with a corresponding potential increase in fire activity.

A heavy helicopter dropped 27,000 gallons of water on the northwest corner of the Horse Heaven fire on Wednesday to slow the fire from backing into the Horse Heaven Creek drainage. Mastication work is making progress on the north side of the fire area along Forest Service Road 092. An extensive grading operation continues along FSR 3831.

Fire activity on the Fuller Lake Fire remains at a low intensity, consuming surface fuels and an abundance of dead and downed trees in the Boulder Creek Wilderness. Teams of sawyers continue to identify and mitigate hazard trees along FSR 5851 that have been weakened by the fire. Road work on the Bullpup Fire is making good progress. Road repairs on FSR 3816 are ongoing. Road work is nearing completion on FSR’s 200 and 300.

The No Man Fire continues to be in a patrol and monitor status.
