A Myrtle Creek man was jailed following an alleged incident at a business on Tuesday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 1:00 p.m. the 45-year-old randomly attacked an employee while he was pumping gas at a station in the 200 block of Pruner Road.  The man then reportedly attempted to punch the victim but only grazed him as the victim was able to dodge most of the impact.

The suspect then reportedly started acting aggressive and screaming about the victim holding his girlfriend captive. The victim had to chase the man off with a window squeegee.

The man ran into Tri City and was followed by a volunteer firefighter to where he eventually stopped near a residence in the 400 block of Valley Drive. When contacted by a deputy, the suspect did not deny what he had done but demanded that the deputy check on his imaginary girlfriend that he claimed was being held at the gas station.

The suspect was charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and harassment. After arraignment, he remained detained on $300 bail.
