Roseburg Police jailed a man for a parole violation Thursday night.

An RPD report said at 9:00 p.m. officers contacted a group of men under the awning of a vacant business in the 400 block of Northeast Winchester Street. Officers learned the man had failed to report to his parole officer and was wanted for a parole violation. He was detained without bail.

A second man in the group allegedly had an open beer can under his leg. The 62-year-old was cited for drinking in public.
