Sutherlin Police jailed a man for an alleged menacing incident early Friday.

An RPD report said just before 1:00 a.m. 47-year-old Jon Johnson allegedly got into a disagreement with a gas station attendant in the 100 block of Hutchins Way. Johnson reportedly pulled a gun, pointed it and said, “bang”. The gun was found to be an airsoft.

The man was charged with menacing, and second-degree disorderly conduct. A charge of failure to report as a sex offender was added as the man had not registered his new address. Johnson was detained without bail.
