The rider of a motorized bicycle was hurt in an accident with a commercial passenger van on Wednesday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 5:20 p.m. the van, which had no passengers, was southbound in the 3000 block of Highway 99 South in Green. As the vehicle turned into the north driveway of the parking lot of First Student Transportation, it stuck the rider who was traveling northbound, in the bike lane.

The man sustained injuries and was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. The van driver was cited for failure to yield to a bicycle.
