Tuesday night, Republican State Senator Dick Anderson of Lincoln City, was honored with the Legislative Champion award at the 2024 Housing Oregon Conference and Awards Gala.
A release said the award was given for Anderson’s leadership in advancing housing production throughout Oregon. His dedication to streamlining regulations, expanding housing supply, and addressing barriers to development has earned him recognition from housing advocates and industry leaders alike.
Anderson said, “I’m deeply grateful to Housing Oregon for this recognition and for their ongoing efforts. This award underscores the importance of building more housing of all types to address the state’s supply challenges”. Anderson said, “Working together, we can expand housing supply and address the challenges Oregonians face in finding homes that fit their needs – whether for their families, careers or future plans”.
The release said the Housing Oregon Conference highlights legislative and industry efforts to address Oregon’s housing challenges, collaboration between lawmakers and housing developers to accelerate production across the state.
Anderson represents a wide area of the Oregon coast including Reedsport and Scottsburg in Douglas County.
