Covering coastal Douglas County:

A man was hospitalized following an ATV crash in Winchester Bay on Sunday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 3:30 p.m. a deputy responded to the third beach in the 34000 block of Salmon Harbor Drive where the 60-year-old and his riding group were waiting for medical attention after the man crashed his quad nearby.

The man complained of left leg pain. He was transported to Lower Umpqua Hospital by ambulance.
