TWO TAKEN TO HOSPITAL, ASSAULT UNDER INVESTIGATION

Two people were taken to the hospital following an assault incident Thursday night.

A Roseburg Police report said at 7:20 p.m. officers responded to the Super 8 Motel in the 3200 block of Northwest Aviation Drive after said there was a disturbance between two guests. Officers found 25-year-old Cory Polzen of Vancouver, Washington and 63-year-old Willliam Polzen of McMinnville, in the motel lobby both covered in blood.

Officers learned that William Polzen allegedly stabbed Cory Polzen several times in his abdomen, during a fight inside their room. William sustained head injuries due to numerous punches from Cory.

Both were transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center. As of midday Friday neither were current patients at Mercy. Cory Polzen has been charged with fourth-degree assault. He is detained on $6,250 bail. The investigation is ongoing, according to RPD.
