ROSEBURG POLICE CITE 5 PEOPLE FOR PROHIBITED CAMPING

Roseburg Police cited 5 people for prohibited camping on Tuesday.

An RPD report said at 8:30 a.m. officers responded to a camping complaint and contacted a 39-year-old woman near the intersection of Northwest Edenbower Boulevard and Northwest Stewart Parkway. She was reportedly sleeping on the sidewalk. Her camp was in violation of the time, place and manner ordinance and the woman was cited without incident.

At 4:15 p.m. officers contacted 4 people at camps set up along the South Umpqua River under the bridge near the intersection of West Harvard Avenue and Northwest Stewart Parkway. This area is a location prohibited by the time, place and manner ordinance.

The campers were released after their citations were issued.
