ABRUPT CHANGE IN WEATHER COMING WEDNESDAY

An abrupt change in the weather is coming to the Umpqua Valley starting early Wednesday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that rain should begin shortly after midnight Tuesday. It is expected to intensify as the day goes on with a half inch of rain possible for Wednesday. High temperatures will be in the upper 60s. Thunderstorms are possible in the evening hours. Light showers are likely for Thursday. Friday and Saturday should be sunny with highs in the upper 70s.

Monday will be the last day of unseasonally warm temperatures for now with a high in the upper 80s forecast. Tuesday should be in the low 80s. The normal high temperature for this time of year is 83 degrees.

The high at the Roseburg Regional Airport on Sunday was 93 degrees.
