ROSEBURG SETS RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE THURSDAY

Roseburg set a record high temperature for the date on Thursday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the mercury reached 105 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. The previous record high for September 5th was 104 degrees, set 80 years ago in 1944.

Roseburg is forecast to reach 97 degrees Friday. That is just under the record high temperature for September 6th of 99 degrees, set in 1958.

The Umpqua Valley is slated to cool to the low 90s on Saturday and the upper 80s by Sunday. By the middle of next week there is a chance of rain as afternoon highs cool to the mid 70’s.
