HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR THURSDAY IN MUCH OF SOUTHERN OREGON

September 4. 2024 4:00 a.m. 

A Heat Advisory is in effect from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Thursday in much of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said heat index values of around 100 degrees are expected.

The Advisory area includes Douglas, Josephine, Jackson and eastern Curry counties.

Afternoon high temperatures near 105 degrees are expected for Roseburg, Grants Pass and Medford on Thursday. The region should be at or near 100 degrees on Wednesday and Friday as well.

Forecasters said residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
