The Friendly Kitchen/Meals on Wheels Roseburg is partnering with the Douglas County Farmer’s Co-Op for a month-long fundraiser that just got underway.

Co-Op customers have an opportunity to donate with a “coupon” purchase of any amount at the store registers. One hundred percent will benefit the Friendly Kitchen/Meals on Wheels meal delivery services, which began in 1972.

The Friendly Kitchen/Meals on Wheels Roseburg is a non-profit organization that relies on private donations, grants and fundraising. On average, clients donate .61 cents per meal, while meals currently cost between $7 and $8 dollars to prepare. Clients are never billed for their meals but are free to give what they can. Volunteer drivers currently deliver $5,000 meals each month to some of the most at-risk citizens.
