SACRAMENTO WOMAN JAILED AFTER STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED

A Sacramento, California woman was jailed after a stolen vehicle was recovered on Saturday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 10:50 a.m. the victim had his vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 2300 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway in Roseburg. It was running with the door open. A suspect reportedly got into the car and drove off, heading north on Interstate 5. Later, a deputy said he was out with a female at the skate park in Winston who matched the description of the suspect in the incident.

The deputy sent a picture of the woman to another deputy who showed it to the victim. He was 100 percent certain that the woman was the suspect. During an interview, the 49-year-old admitted to the theft and instructed the deputy on how to find the vehicle. After an extensive search, the vehicle was called in as a suspicious vehicle in the 900 block of Wagontire Drive in the Myrtle Creek area. Deputies recovered the vehicle.

The suspect was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle. She was detained without bail and released on Sunday.
