A woman was charged with a DUII after a freeway accident on Tuesday afternoon. An Oregon State Police report said at 3:50 p.m. the driver of a sedan failed to maintain her lane when merging onto Interstate Five southbound from the Harvard Avenue onramp.
The vehicle impacted the guardrail causing extensive damage. The 52-year-old driver was contacted, and indications of impairment were observed. She was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants after performing tests and providing a blood alcohol level of 0.24. That is three times the legal level of intoxication.
The driver was cited and released at the Winston Police Department.
