Deputies with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office jailed a transient for an alleged trespass incident on Monday afternoon.
A DCSO report said at 12:30 p.m. 62-year-old Jeffrey Snodgrass was contacted at his camp at the Old Hult Mill in DIllard, near the riverbank. This property is owned by Roseburg Forest Products and is posted with “No Trespassing” signs. Snodgrass had previously been advised of trespass and told to clean up his camp and leave. The suspect advised that he was still working on moving his camp, even though it looked the same as the last time he was contacted.
Snodgrass was taken into custody and charged with second-degree criminal trespass, reckless burning and for depositing trash within 100 yards of a waterway. He was detained without bail and was released on Tuesday.
