ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR WARRANTS/DRUG CRIME

Roseburg Police jailed a man for warrants and drug crimes on Thursday.

An RPD report said just after 8:00 p.m.34-year-old Earl Cary was seen walking through the parking lot of a business in the 1500 block of Northeast Stephens Street. The man was known to have outstanding warrants. Dispatch confirmed that Cary had four of them, and he was taken into custody.

Cary allegedly refused to allow officers to search his pockets but agreed to a pat down search. Once at corrections, deputies searched the shower area prior to allowing Cary to enter. When he was done showering, deputies searched the shower area a second time and reportedly located a small baggie containing a white crystal substance and a clear glass pipe with residue. The crystal substance weighed 2.25 grams and tested positive for amphetamines.

Cary was charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine and for the warrants. He was detained on $60,000 bail.
