In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
Umpqua Community College Fine and Performing Arts Department presents pianist John Nilsen in a solo concert on Friday September 6th at 7:00 p.m. at the Whipple Fine Arts Center on the UCC main campus.
A UCC release said Nilsen’s music evokes peaceful, yet exciting visions of locations around the world, childhood memories and dreams of the future.
Nilsen is a pianist, guitarist, vocalist songwriter and one of the Pacific Northwest’s most successful performance and recording artists. Nilsen’s record sales far exceed a million copies, a rare accomplishment in the music industry.
Over the past thirty-five years, Nilsen has performed an average of 240 times a year in every U.S. state, as well as logging numerous tours in Europe, Asia and Australia.
