An Umpqua teen was taken to the hospital following a single vehicle wreck on Friday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 6:30 p.m. the 16-year-old was traveling westbound in the 13000 block of Garden Valley Road  and came around a corner at approximately 75 miles per hour. The driver lost control of the pickup, which went off the roadway and rolled several times. The vehicle caught fire, but the driver was able to get out safely.

He was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for minor injuries. The pickup was towed from the scene.
