TILLER TRAIL FIRE NOW NAMED DIXON FIRE

August 11, 2024 11:20 a.m.

The Tiller Trail Fire has now officially been named the Dixon Fire due to multiple agency involvement.

An update from the Douglas Forest Protective Association said night crews continued aggressively working on building lines on the estimated 1,600 to 2,000-acre fire and addressing some spot fires. DFPA Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said structural, wildland, landowner, and heavy equipment resources are continuing to arrive, with the official briefing of Oregon Department of Forestry’s Incident Management Team 2 scheduled for Sunday at 4:30 p.m.

Pope said DFPA’s air attack is currently grounded due to limited visibility caused by smoke impediment. If and when smoke conditions clear, DFPA will launch aerial resources.

Evacuation levels continue to be in place, as communicated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. The evacuation map is linked: https://kqennewsradio.com/2024/08/11/diamond-complex-grows-slightly-to-8256-acres/
