Roseburg Police cited a man for an alleged theft incident on Monday.

An RPD report said just before 11:40 a.m. officers contacted the 54-year-old near the 2100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway after he allegedly attempted to steal several items from Walmart. The man admitted to trying to steal the items but left them behind after being confronted by an employee outside the store exit.

The man was placed in handcuffs without incident. He was transported to corrections where he was released after being booked.
