SUV REAR ENDS TOW TRUCK PULLING MOTOR HOME

No one was hurt when an SUV rear ended a tow truck pulling a full-sized motor home on Interstate 5 northbound a mile south of the Quines Creek Road/Barton Road interchange north of Glendale early Thursday morning.

An OSP report said at about 12:25 a.m. troopers were dispatched to the crash. The driver of the SUV told a trooper that he was traveling at about 75 miles per hour in the slow later while he was on his cell phone. The 47-year-old said he did not see the vehicles in front of him before his vehicle struck the rear of the motor home.

The driver said he didn’t think the motor home had any taillights on or if they were on, they were very dim; The tow truck driver said he had the emergency flashers on the motor home turned on, and there was a light bar attached to the rear of the motor home.

Both vehicles were moved prior to law enforcement arrival. The SUV had heavy front end damage, while the motor home had minor damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
