OREGON WITH 39 ACTIVE LARGE FIRES, 9,805 PERSONNEL ASSIGNED

Oregon has 39 active large fires, with 9,805 personnel assigned as of late Wednesday.

An update from the Oregon Department of Forestry said the largest fire remains the Durkee Fire, burning 5 miles southwest of Durkee in Baker County. It has burned 293,882 acres and is 52 percent contained.

1,269 fires have burned in Oregon so far this year. 497 of them are on ODF protected lands. Over 1,2 million acres have burned year to date in the state.

Both the Regional Preparedness Level and the ODF Activity Level are at level 5, the highest possible rating.
