The Diamond Complex burning in the Umpqua National Forest is now up to an estimated 5,486 acres and 11 percent contained. The Middle Fork, within Crater Lake National Park, is at 728 acres and is 1 percent contained.
A UNF update said Public Use Restrictions remain at Level 3 across all ranger districts of the forest in response to the drying conditions and increased fire activity. Broken Arrow, Diamond Lake and Thielsen View campgrounds are open and taking reservations at www.recreation.gov
The largest fires are:
*Pine Bench Fire: 2,117 acres and 10 percent contained.
*Lemolo Fire: 873 acres and zero percent contained.
*Trail Fire: 839 acres and 40 percent contained.
*Potter Fire 747 acres and zero percent contained
*Watson Fire: 236 acres and 50 percent contained.
All of the other fires are between 0.1 acres and 200 acres
As the weather warms and dries, the potential for rapid fire growth will increase in this area, for the foreseeable future.
