Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged robbery on Friday night.
An RPD report said at 9:40 p.m. officers were dispatched to Fred Meyer in the 900 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway after a loss prevention employee said that an unknown man put two beers in his pocket and attempted to leave the store with them.
The employee reported he tried to grab the beers from the suspect and the man swung his fist at him in an attempt to hit him, before leaving the store with the beers. After searching the area, officers were unable to locate the suspect. On Saturday, officers contacted a man behind the parking loss of Ross, in the 700 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard, who matched the description of the individual involved in the incident at Fred Meyer.
