A Myrtle Creek man was jailed on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving late Friday.
An Oregon State Police report said at 11:50 p.m. troopers were dispatched to a hazard vehicle in the lane of travel near Interstate 5 northbound at the Canyon Creek summit. The driver of the vehicle reportedly showed signs of impairment and performed poorly on standard field sobriety tests. The 36-year-old driver was taken into custody.
The report said the vehicle and driver were suspects in a hit and run from OSP in Central Point. The driver allegedly became very uncooperative at the jail and a search warrant was applied for and granted for blood and breath. The driver provided a breath sample of 0.10 BAC. The man was detained without bail and was released on Sunday.
