Myrtle Creek Police jailed a man following an overnight stabbing incident early Saturday.
An MCPD report said just before 3:00 a.m. officers responded to an apartment complex in the 700 block of Northeast Johnson Street after a caller said there had been an assault.
Detective Kevin Taggert said a 28-year-old Roseburg man reported he had been in a disturbance and thought he had been stabbed. The victim was taken by ambulance to CHI Mercy Medical Center with what appeared to be a stab wound in his chest.
Taggart said the investigation led to the arrest of another Roseburg man, 42-year-old Quenton Johnson. Johnson was charged with first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. He was detained without bail.
Taggart said more charges are pending the outcome of the investigation. The victim in this case was later released from Mercy.
MCPD was assisted at the scene and throughout the day by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
