AIR QUALITY ALERT EXTENDED THROUGH FRIDAY AT 5:00 P.M.

July 25, 2024 4:00 a.m.

An Air Quality Alert has been extended through Friday at 5:00 p.m. for parts of southern Oregon.

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air Pollution Advisory for eastern Douglas and northern Klamath counties due to numerous wildfires burning in the region.

Wildfire smoke combined with forecast conditions will cause air quality levels to fluctuate and could be at unhealthy levels.

Smoke levels can change rapidly depending on the weather. Smoke can irritate the eyes and lungs and worsen some medical conditions. People most at risk include infants and young children, people with heart or lung disease, older adults and those who are pregnant.
