Roseburg Police cited a woman Wednesday for the prior theft of dogs.
An RPD report said officers took a report of a theft of two Rottweiler puppies from a vehicle on Monday. On Wednesday, officers learned the dogs had been taken to Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center. The 42-year-old had given the puppies to animal control, stating that they were found wandering in the area of Northeast Stephens Street and Northeast Newton Creek Road.
When contacted by officers, the woman admitted to taking the puppies out of a vehicle that did not belong to her and taking them to her house. At the time she took the dogs, she made no attempt to contact law enforcement regarding any concerns she had for the puppy’s welfare.
She was cited for two counts of first-degree theft and unauthorized entry to a motor vehicle, in lieu of custody.
