A Yoncalla man was cited after a hit and run incident on Wednesday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 4:15 p.m. a vehicle drove off the roadway in the 500 block of Melrose Road, at the former Kruse Farms location. It sideswiped a telephone pole causing it to sheer off from the bottom. The male driver then left the location.

A witness took a photo of the vehicle parked before the man left. It showed severe damage to the passenger side of the truck. The 25-year-old was located in Yoncalla and given a citation for hit and run/property damage in lieu of custody.
