A Roseburg man was hospitalized after a two-vehicle accident in Green Tuesday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just after 12:40 p.m. the 83-year-old was traveling west near the intersection of Happy Valley Road and Little Valley Road. His pickup drifted across lanes into oncoming traffic and struck a second pickup which was headed east, though that driver was attempting to avoid contact. The vehicle hit was also towing a utility trailer which swung around due to the impact and struck a parked vehicle, causing damage.

The elderly driver was entrapped in his vehicle. After being extricated, he was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for treatment. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
