CHI Mercy Health’s ER and Trauma Department and Sherm’s Thunderbird Market have joined together with local community partners to present the 9th annual Safety Day for Kids, this Saturday.

This year’s event will be held in the parking lot area of Sherm’s at 2553 Northwest Stewart Parkway in Roseburg. The goal of the event is to feature summer safety tips from a number of organizations to help local children.

The event is from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is free and open to the community.

Over 30 organizations are participating including:

*Adapt Integrated Health Care

*Douglas County Sheriff’s Office

*Oregon Department of Transportation

*Thrive Umpqua – A Certified Blue Zones Community

*YMCA of Douglas County
