Roseburg Police cited a man for prohibited camping on Thursday.

An RPD report said just after 10:45 a.m. the 48-year-old had a hammock attached to trees in the parking lot near the splash pad at Fir Grove Park in the 1300 block of West Harvard Avenue. The hammock even had a tarp attached to the trees above it acting as a cover. The hammock was over at least one parking space, making it unusable for a vehicle to park.

The man was allegedly very confrontational and stated he did not recognize the Time, Place and Manner ordinance, which prohibited him from attaching things to the trees.

He was cited and released on the scene. A shopping cart was also retrieved from the man, and he was warned if he was contacted with one in the future, he would be charged for theft.
