Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged hit and run incident and DUII charges on Monday night.

An RPD report said at 10:00 p.m. a victim called dispatch and said a sedan had struck her pickup at the intersection of Northeast Stephens Street and Northeast Garden Valley Boulevard and continued without stopping. The victim followed the vehicle to the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 800 block of Northeast Sunset Street.

Officers arrived a few minutes later and contacted the driver of the suspect vehicle. The 40-year-old reportedly displayed signs of alcohol impairment and his sedan had obvious damage that was consistent with striking the victim’s vehicle. The man was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, and failure to perform the duties of a driver-property damage. He was detained on $16,250 bail.
