Roseburg Police jailed a man for an alleged strangulation incident on Friday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 3:00 p.m. officers responded to a business in the 1600 block of Northeast Stephens Street after a caller said there was a disturbance between two people. Witnesses observed 34-year-old Jonathan Rieke’s hands around the victim’s neck. Through the investigation, officers learned by Rieke has strangled the victim.

The man was charged with a felony count of strangulation. Rieke was detained without bail.
