TWO HOSPITALIZED FOLLOWING ACCIDENT NEAR DIAMOND LAKE

Two Oakland residents were hospitalized following an accident near Diamond Lake Saturday night.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 7:40 p.m. an SUV left Highway 138E near mile post 75 and came to an uncontrolled rest against a tree. The driver was observed by a witness stumbling around the crash site. The passenger was ejected, landing approximately 20 feet from the where the vehicle stopped. Both men had observable serious injuries and the driver showed signs of impairment. The passenger was transported to Asante Rogue Hospital in Medford and the driver was transported to St. Charles Hospital in Bend. The SUV was towed from the scene. A search warrant was later completed and sent to be executed by an OSP trooper in Bend.
