Roseburg Police cited a man for prohibited camping on Thursday.

An RPD report said just before 11:00 a.m. the 43-year-old had his camp set up along the water’s edge at Stewart Park in the 2000 block of Northwest Stewart Park Drive. This was near the Roseburg Parks Department Shops.

The man has been cited for prohibited camping in this area numerous times and is aware of the time, place and manner ordinance. His camp exceeded the 10-foot by 10- foot allotted space, was attached to trees, was dug into the group, was set up after 8:00 a.m. and was set up next to the river, which is a prohibited area.  The man was released after the citation was issued.
