Roseburg Police jailed a man after an incident at the Douglas County Courthouse on Southeast Douglas Avenue on Tuesday night.
An RPD report said at 6:10 p.m. officers contacted the 39-year-old after he was called in on a separate situation. As officers were speaking with him, the suspect reportedly began to kick the glass doors at the courthouse. He was allegedly extremely intoxicated, which is a violation of his parole. His parole officer authorized a detainer, and he was taken into custody without incident.
While at corrections, officers learned the man broke two of the keypads on the courthouse doors. Damage to the doors was over $1,000. He was charged with first-degree criminal mischief and a parole violation. The man was detained without bail.
