ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR THIRD-DEGREE THEFT CHARGE

Roseburg Police jailed a man on a third-degree theft charge on Friday.

An RPD report said at 7:00 p.m. the 31-year-old allegedly walked behind the counter of a store in the 1900 block of Northeast Stephens Street and took a pack of cigarettes. He was confronted by an employee, who put the suspect in a headlock and threw him to the ground. The man gave the cigarettes back and left the store.

He was located by police in a nearby parking lot and taken into custody. Bail was set at $1,250.
