Roseburg Police jailed a man for a stolen vehicle incident on Tuesday.
An RPD report said at 7:10 p.m. officers responded to two different calls regarding vehicles that received damage to the door locks and ignition, during attempts to steal them in the 2100 and 2700 blocks of Northwest Stewart Parkway. Both incidents were caught on camera.
The suspect was a man driving a crew cab truck. The vehicle was located leaving the area of a business in the 3300 block of Northwest Aviation Drive. He was eventually stopped by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office near the fish ladder in Winchester. The driver was identified as the suspect and was taken into custody without incident. The truck he was driving was stolen out of California and had switched plates.
33-year-old Nicholas Norris of Sacramento, California was charged with two counts of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, and for first and second-degree counts of criminal mischief. Norris was detained without bail and was released early Wednesday.
