Those interested in filing for a seat on the Reedsport City Council, including for mayor, in the November 2024 election may obtain an information packet from the city recorder at Reedsport City Hall on Winchester Avenue.

Deputy City Recorder Christina Crockett said the Reedsport City Charter requires a one-year and continued residency, and a nomination petition. Crockett said the deadline for filling the completed, unverified petitions is Tuesday August 20th. State laws require that a blank petition, filled out and signed by the candidate, must be filed with the city recorder prior to gathering signatures.

Up for election will be the office of mayor which is a two-year term, and three council positions which are four-year terms. Terms will begin in January 2025.
