Roseburg Police cited a man for drinking in public on Wednesday.

An RPD report said at 9:40 a.m. an officer saw the 47-year-old seated on parking stop in a lot in the 700 block of Southeast Stephens Street, with a 40-ounce beer next to him. As soon as the man saw the patrol vehicle, he poured out the frothy beverage. The suspect told the officer that it was apple juice, but the report said it clearly was not.

The man eventually admitted to drinking the beer and said he knew he was not supposed to be drinking in public. He was cited and released on the scene and an exclusion notice was filled out.
